(USA/Denmark/2016—directed by Jon Nguyen)

By way of unexpectedly personal interviews recorded over the course of three years, artist and filmmaker David Lynch reveals the experiences, insights, memories and obsessions that forged his imagination, accompanying him from his birth in Missoula, Montana in 1946, to the many towns to which his scientist father was relocated, to the 1977 release of his first masterpiece, Eraserhead. The now-70-year-old Lynch has never stopped creating, whether it be paintings and sculptures, feature films such as his 2001 Mulholland Dr., (this year voted by a BBC poll of international critics as the greatest film of the 21st Century to date) or the upcoming return of Twin Peaks. The Art Life offers an invaluable chance to spend time with an extraordinary personality. (90 minutes)
