Midtown Detroit Inc, President Sue Mosey has been named Michigander of the Year From the Article:Sue Mosey, president of the nonprofit Midtown Detroit Inc., is a no-nonsense urban planner who shrugs off accolades and is quick to point to others who've helped bring life and buzz back to Midtown — an area encompassing Wayne State University that stretches from Orchestra Hall to the Detroit Institute of Arts. Reviving Detroit From The Ground Up

Retail Establishments Are Opening Up All Over The Neighborhood

Summer is apparently the time to go shopping in Midtown Detroit, if the new stores popping up all over the neighborhood are any indication. From the article:The area west of Woodward Avenue, also called the Cass Corridor, was probably better known a decade ago for its abundance of poets, working-class folks and streetwalkers. Colorful Murals on Whole Foods

Midtown Detroit Inc. funded the four murals that were installed last week on the east side of the soon-to-open Whole Foods.   From the Article: More than 100 artists applied for the four large rectangles of space on the east wall of the highly anticipated Whole Foods store opening near Mack and Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit June 5. The four winning artists - Jerome Ferretti, Katherine Larson, Tylonn Sawyer and Mathew Sharum - got a space to create on the side of the 21,000-square-foot building and $8,500 from Midtown Detroit Inc., for their work.   Read the full MLive article here.

Whole Foods comes to Midtown Detroit

Whole Foods has been working diligently since its groundbreaking in Midtown last year and is on track to open its doors on June 5th. The organic grocery store's new Mack Avenue location will be over 20,000 square feet, employ approximately 75 people and has promised to make an effort to include local goods on its shelves.
