The son of Fela Kuti will lend an Afrobeat touch to the proceedings and Don Was will lead an homage to Bob Seger at this summer's Concert of Colors.

The full schedule was announced today for the 22nd edition of the free fest, which will run July 10-13 at a variety of Midtown Detroit sites. A July 5 warm-up concert will be held at New Center Park.

The seventh year of the Don Was Detroit All-Star Revue will spotlight Seger's 1976 breakthrough album, "Live Bullet," with a diverse collection of acts including Scott Morgan, the Sights, the Detroit Cobras, the Infatuations, Liz Larin, Nadir and others. The show will headline the July 12 bill at Orchestra Hall.

On July 13, the Orchestra Hall action will include an afternoon collaboration between blues singer Thornetta Davis and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (with guest conductor John McLaughlin Williams). Nigerian saxophonist Seun Kuti will headline that evening with the band Egypt 80, largely made up of musicians who performed with his late father, Fela Kuti, a pioneer of modern African music.
