09/21/2011 Midtown Detroit, Inc. (MDI) received an Our Town Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), one of only 51 grants awarded nationwide. 09/16/11 Midtown Detroit Inc., Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and TechTown win $1.33 million in ArtPlace grants

 Private foundations, the National Endowment for the Arts and federal partners join forces to place arts and culture at the center of economic revitalization efforts in Detroit and other U.S. cities and towns.

Three arts and culture organizations located in Detroit’s Woodward Avenue corridor will receive $1.33 million to expand their programs as part of an arts-based economic development initiative being launched in two dozen cities and towns across the nation.

New Economy Initiative

Grant awarded for Detroit's greenways

The Kresge Foundation awarded $3.5-million to the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan to help expand and build three Detroit greenways. The planned Midtown Loop greenway was just one of the projects on the list for funding. UCCA receives funding from the Chrysler Foundation

Noel Night receives grant from DTE for LED holiday lighting
