The Henry Ford Health Care System (HFHS) is one of the nation's leading comprehensive, integrated health systems. HFHS provides health insurance and health care delivery, including acute, specialty, primary and preventive care services backed by excellence in research and education. Founded in 1915 by auto pioneer Henry Ford, the health system is committed to improving the health and well-being of a diverse community.
HFHS is comprised of six hospitals and 29 medical centers. The Henry Ford Medical Group is one of the nation's largest group practices, with 1,200 physicians and researchers in 40 specialties. The System's flagship, Henry Ford Hospital in Midtown, is a Level 1 Trauma Center recognized for clinical excellence in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, sports medicine, multi-organ transplants and cancer treatment.
With more than 23,000 employees, HFHS is the fifth-largest employer in metro Detroit, and amongst the most diverse. Generating more than $1.7 billion of annual economic stimulus, it proudly acts as one of Michigan's anchor institutions.
HFHS has recently invested$300 million in renovations of its flagship hospital and is pursuing a $500 million in capital expansion in Midtown.
